BEST Initiatives stands as a beacon of empowerment for Black, Minority, and Ethnic (BME) communities, along with refugees in Newcastle and Gateshead. We confront exclusion and discrimination head-on by offering comprehensive services designed to uplift and integrate individuals into the fabric of our community.
Our dynamic employment support framework equips our participants with crucial skills for the job market. Through hands-on sessions, we provide essential digital literacy—including computer use, CV creation, interview preparation, and online communication—to enhance employability and self-sufficiency.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic’s challenges, we’ve risen to meet the immediate needs of the most affected—such as the vulnerable, elderly, and single mothers—through our dedicated Centre for COVID Relief Materials, ensuring access to food, hygiene necessities, and infant care products.
We champion community cohesion by delivering specialised vocational training for the youth and fostering employability skills for adults.
Our tailored support extends beyond employment, offering guidance and connections to specialised services for tackling issues like addiction, mental health, domestic abuse, and homelessness.
the pivotal role of childcare in family stability and economic participation, we place special emphasis on supporting single parents. Our childcare initiatives are integral to our approach, enabling single parents to balance work commitments with family life, ensuring no one has to choose between their child’s well-being and their career.
